Canned Facts Name : Tomoe Hotaru In Depth Tomoe Hotaru is seen as a quiet, fragile girl. Her fellow students
don't associate themselves with her because her father runs the school, so they think she's a bit of a snob, but also, because they are afraid of her and her strange powers. Hotaru is a mysterious girl. She wears dark colours to hard a
very peculiar feature: she's not all human, a cyborg really. When Hotaru was six, she was gravely wounded in a fire. In order to save her, her father, Professor Tomoe Souichi, had to rebuild her body out of metal and wires and he
placed a daimon egg, the spirit of Mistress 9, in her body. Chibiusa says she's pretty and mysterious. The kids at her school think she's scary, so they tease her and she doesn't have a lot of friends. She is often taken by fits
of coughing and becomes ill very easily. She also has the strange power to heal herself and others. Though when she tries to heal others, it affects her three fold. She seems weak bodied, yet she is very strong. Her
temperament also changes as quickly as a blink of the eye. She can be calm one moment, and full of rage the next. But by nature, she really is a very calm girl. She likes dark places and she enjoys collecting pretty lamps.
The Girl of the Second Incarnation When Hotaru was very little, her adoptive parents, Michiru, Haruka, and Setsuna, thought she was such a quiet, well-behaved child. But as she grew steadily and abnormally older, she became much
more open, bright, happy, and very very naughty! ^_^ After about half a year, Hotaru had grown so quickly that she was almost the same age as she was before she was reincarnated. She had become a very intelligent child, memorizing
poetry and studying the stars, yet she was almost always very happy. Michiru taught her to play the violin and she could always draw out the ghost of the Pegasus. In the ghostly vision, the Pegasus was injured and a girl with
pointed odango cried over it's body. Hotaru cried over the ghostly spirit too. Michiru said that sometimes, like this, Hotaru's eyes recall the coldness of Saturn's. When Hotaru was getting ready for a bath, the ghost of the
sleeping Saturn came to her. She said that she was her sleeping self and that it was time to awaken. Hotaru came out of the bath taller. She had assumed her old age, 12, and was ready to be a soldier again.
The Dark Messiah Within In Hotaru's past life, she was never fully herself unto herself. Deep down inside of her lived a being, a being more evil than even the sleeping Sailorsaturn within her, Mistress 9. During a terrible fire,
Hotaru was gravely wounded, her mother Keiko dead. Professor Tomoe couldn't stand to lose his daughter and his wife so in order to save Hotaru, he had to rebuild her body out of metal and wire and plant a daimon egg within her. As
Hotaru grew older, the daimon egg gained more and more power until it finally awakened as Mistress 9. The spirit of the girl who's body housed Mistress 9 for years was stubborn and lived on within her. Hotaru's spirit fights Mistress 9
strongly, though Mistress 9 remained stronger. Hotaru managed to protect the four Inner Planet Soldier as well as restore Chibiusa's Ginzuishou to her. The spirit of Hotaru finally awakens as Sailorsaturn and destroys Mistress 9.
The Soldier of Ruin & Rebirth Sailorsaturn appeared at the awakening of Master Pharaoh 90 when the three talisman formed to awaken Sailorsaturn. With her Silence Glaive, Sailorsaturn destroyed Master Pharaoh 90 and
Tokyo. She then orders Sailorpluto to seal the time gate for good and then disappears. As Sailormoon resurrects the city, Hotaru is reborn. In battle, Sailorsaturn looks weak and unassuming. But beware, by her side she
carries the scythe of the goddess of death, the Silence Glaive. Bringing this Glaive down could cause the entire destruction of the Earth. She is incredibly strong in an ethereal sort of way. Her powers are of unforetold
power that she can control to suit her ends. She is philosophical and cold. She doesn't fear death or despair and takes life without remorse. She knows that death is always followed by hope and rebirth. The spirit of Saturn
watches over the reincarnated Hotaru, waiting for the day that she will be ready. When she is, Saturn is returned to her true form and lends Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna the power to transform into Super Sailor Soldiers. She also
sees the true power in the four Amazon sisters when no one else does.
